Michigan Copper™ is described as a vigorous super-utility hop with very fragrant floral and tropical fruit aromas and flavors. Alphas & betas acids have averaged 8.81- 10.5 & 18.104.22.168 respectively, Cohumulone < 32%, and oils potentially reaching 1.75 ml/100g or higher. Growers report good vigorous growth and color with above average yields for first season production (to the wire). It has good resistance to downy mildew in ongoing field trials.
Michigan Copper™ was among the first new cultivar to be released from the GLH trials and breeding program in 2014. It has gained traction and praise across the United States since and has only increased in demand.
